About Us

Welcome to Wurt the Wait! We’re the waitin’ Wurt’s and we are glad you’re here.

JW 1060

Since I’m a sucker for formal introductions… I am the girl in the picture, the man human is my husband, John, and the most beautiful and perfect pupdog you see there is our baby, Woodford. JW 1125

Even though I created this blog as an outlet and a way to keep track of the crazy life we’re living through our journey of infertility, I hope it becomes much more than that. I would love to receive prayer requests from you, insightful words of wisdom (or just words) about your own infertility journey or even your journey if it doesn’t include infertility.

JW 1472

We’ve been living the “trying to conceive” life since we got married in October 2012. It’s been the worst nightmare I’ve lived through and definitely a difficult disease to conquer as newlyweds. But, together, with our Heavenly Father, we know His plans and we are faithful that He will bless us with a child of His own… someday.

JW 1235

I’m confident you’ll learn probably way too much about us through the posts but briefly, here’s a quick summary of us.

JW 1831

John is from a wonderful family. He’s the oldest of three boys and has the biggest heart for his brothers. John is the type of guy that radiates unconditional love. He has the most forgiving heart and sees the good in everyone he meets. His smile lights up any room, his one-liners are unexpected and always greeted with laughter. He’s incredibly hardworking, as a CPA, and there is absolutely nothing I want more than to make him a father. His child/children will be the most loved babes and will be blessed to have a father as selfless and full of love as John.JW 1664

John and I have two nephews – Colton and Luke. Seeing the way they adore adore adore Uncle John is the greatest feeling because he is such a wonderful role model to them and adores both of them with everything in his heart. John and I enjoy bringing the boys on “date nights” and love having their happy faces around all the time. Sometimes, I’ll admit, we get the sads that there’s not a cousin yet. But Colton tells us his future “Cousin Junior” will be his best friend, to which I reply, “yes, big guy, y’all will be best friends.”JW 1640

And here I am. …In the blue, with my nephews and Woodford and my best friend, my sister Jessie. I won’t get too mushy but I’m extremely positive I’m a part of the coolest, most supportive friendship and sisterhood that could ever be.

By sharing our journey, John and I hope you see God’s faithfulness and love throughout the posts.

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”  Romans 5: 3-4

JW 947

I have a huge family (4 parents, six sisters, one brother) and wouldn’t have it any other way. I am nothing short of an extrovert and strive on relationships, whether it’s a new found friendship or a lifetime companion. I love learning about other people and seeing things from all different perspectives. My mom put it best when she said, “Jayme took SAT courses for months. She didn’t increase her score at all but she made three new friends.”  It’s the truth. My friends are incredibly important to me, and forming friendships when God creates an opportunity is beautiful.  I work in Marketing for a ginormous healthcare company and for the first time in my life, I can finally say I LOVE it. It’s everything I’ve never experienced in a job before and it’s been such an incredible blessing to me.

John and I love to travel, pray before we eat, spend time with Woodford, DIY around our {new} home, golf, cheer on our Kentucky Wildcats, cook, hang out with our families and dream of filling our home with wee ones.

 JW 740

And last but not least… Woodford… the perfect gentleman. He’s a parvo survivor, lover of eating flip flops, pure snuggle bug, was probably a fish in a past life because he’ll sit in the shower waiting for someone to turn on the water. We are so in love with him and we’re living proof that love is being owned by a black lab.
